Thinking Beyond The Box
This is a program we are currently researching and planning out that will change the way we carry out our ministry. TBTB is the brainstorm of Barry Early, Pastor of Harvest Outreach Center and Tender Mercies Board Member.
In this program, food recipients will be asked the question, "Where do you see yourself and your family in a year, two years, and five years down the road?" Recipients will be informed that if they see themselves grown out of or moved past whatever has sent them to Tender Mercies, we want to help them reach that goal.
We are looking into resources to either refer people to for training and guidance or we will train and guide people ourselves. From home management to gardening, money management to job training, Tender Mercies will be helping people gain skills they will need to become self-sufficient.
Tender Mercies will continue to offer food at no cost to the hungry in Mercer County. This program will be an addition and great supplement to our ministry.
